Summer 2026

I went to London last week

And it was a heck of a good time! Me and my fiancee took our friend with us. It was a 5 day trip that had us exploring the city to our best ability. Well.. as well as we could anyway. xD
There’s only so much ground one can cover in just 5 days in such a massive city. Besides, consider the fact that that city alone has almost TWICE the amount of people than we have here in the entirety of Norway!
So a big population means a big city, right? Or is it the other way around… chicken and the egg, right there.

Also, I wanted to upload some videos here to show you some things, but SquareSpace isn’t playing nice with me right now. I’ll figure it out at some point, thanks!

The trip over

Drove up to Oslo to put the car at my sister’s place and she drove us up! We stopped by a mall on the way to sis’ place and I found a demo ipad in the electronic store. Of COURSE I had to leave my mark.. x3

Found a real cute logo for a cafe in the airport that I really wanted to go to. Unfortunately, VERY unfortunately, their coffee machine was having technical difficulties, so I couldn’t buy anything! ;o;
Still, very chill trip over. The other two were stressing like MAD about making it on time, so we showed up like… 2 hours before boarding. But eh, better safe than missing the flight, right?

… did you know my sister’s a bee-keeper? They’re so cute, buzzing around <3

Day 1

Since we arrived rather late, we were well rested at least, since we didn’t have anything really PLANNED out.
…. well, at least the other two were. I was absolutely ZOMBIFIED in the first morning to the point that I was chugging energy drinks like my mind depended on it. Literally, someone was handing out monster energies in the street for some promo and I was like “GIMMIE!!“

The reason? That friend we brought along, was snoring to an APOCALYPTIC level. I struggled so hard that at around 2 am, I just said fuck it and went down to the reception and picked up some ear plugs.
And finally.. fiiiinally, it… didn’t help.

I just had to try to get used to it. And the strategy I eventually adopted, was to get those stoner patch gummies to get me absolutely knocked out to the point that nothing bothered me any more.
Well, it did that, but also… well, you see the Krispy Creme donuts in the gallery….We bought them the same day as the gummies, and the rest of them mysteriously disappeared overnight XD

Beyond that, we had a full English (that I for some reason didn’t photograph) in a little cozy pub, then went to explore around Soho. That’s when I found out that there are vape juices being sold with CBD in them, which is the relaxing compound found in weed.. I think.
And me having brought my vape? Straight to it. Honestly, it helped IMMENSELY with my panic anxiety and agoraphobia, I think.

We found a bar that I forgot the name of, or where it was.
YOU try googling “bar in London“ and see if YOU can find it XD
But there was a rumor that there was a ghost in there! So I asked the bartender about it and he said it was mainly the upstairs people who had been noticing any of that. So I didn’t pry. Just enjoyed my Guinness x3

We also went to Kawan, Uncle Roger’s very own restaurant in chinatown!
We ordered a variety of dishes to share between us, such as Egg Fried Rice from the Village, Ex-Wife Noodles (No joke, name on the menu) and some kind of.. pork thing I forgot the name of. And legit? Best meal I had all trip…. well, shared top placement. You’ll see the other one later in this blog post. ;3

For now, nini!

Day 2

Day 2 started out a little better. I managed to sleep a bit more owed to my pro gamer gummy strats, but I DID skip breakfast. Instead, I just had a quick sammich I bought the day before. Why? I was excited as shit, because we were going to CAMDEN TOWN.

I remember going there, like… 18 years ago with my parents when I was a kid, and back then it felt like an alien world to me. Even MORE so now! Normally, when you’re a kid, everything feels bigger, but Camden Town just feels so much bigger now that I’m an adult! I could literally spend WEEKS just exploring all of those shops and stalls, seeing what’s on offer, finding little hidden gems in the roughness of the market.

And I DID find a hidden Gem, called Psylo.
Psylo is a clothing store that markets itself as “Ethno-Punk“, being that it’s style is a modern twist on slightly medieval-to-fantasy aesthetics. That’s really the best way I know how to explain it, but it’s better if I just link you to the store itself.
I bought a shirt from there. A hoodie with a zippable neck that had me looking like an assassin when I had it all covered up. X3

Having explored the market quite a bit, and picking up a Flat Cap for myself as well, we decided to find something to eat, and we found this place!
Remember that other top place to eat I mentioned earlier? Yeah, that’s the one.
Legit, might very well be the best burger I’ve ever had in my whole life, since they used Miso-bacon on it. It was just.. ALL kinds of juicy. I don’t even remember the price, I could’ve paid £100 and it’d still be worth it.

We also visited Cyberdog, a rave clothing and accessory store, in which I picked up a new shoulder bag and a power bank designed to look like an old cassette tape!
Legit, couldn’t control myself, it was purchased on sight.
Kar, my fiancee, bought a new cap! A black one with rings in it!
He look so cool <3

And of course, as you see in the images, what would a trip to London be without a whirl in the Eye?
Don’t need to link this one, everybody knows what it is. I mean fuck, it’s in Watch Dogs 3, just look at those views!

The day ended with a bit of a spontaneous visit into a ramen shop on the way to the tube to get back to the hotel for the night (not before being offered drugs on the street of course, classical London lmao), but the food there was awesome. I had a Tonkotsu Ramen bowl and the other two shared some Chicken Karaage, which I got to try too.
It was all amazing at the end of a day of exploring like that <3

Good night <3

Day 3

Sorry for the lack of images here.

Oh, I loved how this days started, going to a place called, and I shit you not; Eggslut.
Fucking. Egg. Slut.
But the name was quite apt. They specialized in… well.. french fries!
… nah I’m kidding, it’s eggs, duuh xD
I had a sandwich with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, and.. holy shit, that was THE best breakfast I’ve ever had in the UK. And I’ve been here three times so far. Just so you know.
The hasbrowns were also real ‘lish <3

After that lovely breakfast, we went to the British Museum!
… well, that WAS the plan. We did get in, no issues, bag search and all. But it was so insanely hot in that museum and it was SO cramped full of people that the combination of those two factors were setting off my agoraphobia to the max, so I had to bolt the fuck out of there. What I DID see was really cool, some ancient greek artefacts!
But yeah, best come back in Easter or some shit… XD

Day 4

Immediately, shit goes sideways.
Because in my absolute dumb-ass brain, I thought this was our travel home day… xD

The day before, we all went to bed earlier to get up at 5 so we could check out and get picked up by our Bolt driver at 6 to get to the airport. The lovely receptionist asked us if there was a reason for our earlier checkout since we still had one day left and I was like….. huh?!

I checked my bookings, and.. yep, sure enough, there it was. We were all ready to go one day earlier than we were supposed to. And it was all my fault.
Boy oh boy, I did NOT forgive myself for that one and my mood was cloudier than west Norway at autumn for a big part of the day, at least until Kar told me that it was okay. T’was only a misunderstanding, after all, right?
A big FUCK-UP, more like! Eh, shit happens!

We headed up to Baker Street and got some much needed refreshments from a Dunkin Donuts since the weather that day was absolutely cruel, before visiting the Sherlock Holmes museum. Well… we went to the gift shop. I was so traumatized by the heat in the museum that me and Kar both skipped it XD
But our friend went in. While he did, me and Kar got some beer and tried some fish n chips in a bar next to the museum. Honestly? They don’t do it at home the way they do it in London, it was absolutely divine <3

We decided to go to the London Zoo after that, opting to walk through the park all the way there which was an awesome choice since we got to see some rather tame and cute geese on the way up!
The zoo was a lot of fun! Got to chat with some parrots, had butterflies land on me like a Disney Princess, saw some adorable snakes and lizards, and got to see some Orb Weaver Spiders up close with no glass! People were calling me insane for having my nose 5 cm away from those things, but fuck dude, I love spiders! <3

Unfortunately, the Zoo visit got cut short because our friend’s feet started hurting too bad. Blisters started developing, I think. I felt bad, but at the same time, some weird part of me wanted to say “It’s London! You didn’t prepare?!“
I’m glad I didn’t say that, that’d be so mean… So I’ll blog it instead! xD

The evening was spent mainly chilling out in the room. I did a little exploring around the local area where the Hotel was, figured I’d order us some takeout at a local Italian place. Pizza for me and Kar and pasta for our friend! Very tasty stuff. And a good modest ending to our trip <3

Time to go home

I didn’t take any photos in the end trip.

But I had managed to rebook the Bolt ride, although I had to pay a fee for cancelling it 10 minutes before pickup the night before. I still felt bad about that..

But go flippin’ figure, right as we’re supposed to be picked up, turns out, the road to the hotel is closed! So we had to.. heh heheheh, BOLT to a new pickup place for the driver.
Took around 30 min to get to the Victoria station, from which we took the Gatwick Express. Turns out, that ticket I didn’t need to rebook, it was a flexible ticket for 3!

The trip back was uneventful.
But airport security was absolutely an event. XD
I wore a kilt during my trip there, and I made the foolish choice to wear it through Airport Security. They had to frisk me in a backroom and search the kilt properly since it had too much metal on it.
Problem is; It’s a kilt. I’m wearing nothing under it. So I had to get some undies from my bag to put on so they could search my kilt. They found nothing, it was all a good mood thing, talked about Haaland and had a beautiful moment where me and the two guards were doing the rowing-motion while laughing in the backroom.
I swear, I get along with people way too easily. x3

I swear, I’m booking an emergency exit row next time, since the leg space was just… yeah. I’m 6’4”. Go figure.

Landing in Oslo, I picked up some Harahorn Tropical and Grey Goose from the taxfree before my sister picked us up again, driving us back down and giving me some early birthday gifts! How sweet of her <3

And the way home was pretty sweet in a sort of wind-down way, since our friend wanted to decompress with some classical greasy Norwegian road-side food. I pulled over at a place where I often stop during my trucking routes and satiated his hunger before we went home.

And that’s it, I guess!

We arrived home safely, heads filled with new experiences and a lust for going back some day.

And I didn’t leave empty handed! Here are the things I brought with me;

  • Formal Kilt: I stopped by the highland store on day 3 and got a proper kilt, something I’ll use for holidays and more formal events. More of a favor for my mother, that one.

  • Psylo Shirt: The one I talked about up there. Wearing it every day now since it’s such a comfy and snug fit <3

  • Cyberdog Powerbank: Cassette power!!

  • Cyberdog Soulderbag: So my Kilt pockets don’t get weighted down anymore. Makes carrying stuff around in that thing a bit easier now!

  • Cyberdog biolight shirt: A kind of hawaiian looking shirt that glows in blacklight, and sort-of glows in dimmer daylight. Looks super cool!

  • Flat Cap: Something to go better with my kilt, and I eventually got a Flanell Shirt here in Norway to finish the set!

Thanks for joining me on my quest for the fish’n’chips!
I put a bunch of my stickers around London, so if any of you reading this found this blog through those stickers.. Hello! I love you guys! <3
